Part 2

WHO

We are the Loehr family- Ross, Lianne “Nug”, Juniper and Lennox

WHAT

We are a family of 4 who love travel, adventures and trying new things. This blog started back in 2011 to follow our travel and experiences as we dropped everything and took 14 months to travel the world and enjoy “retirement from our 20’s”.

A lot has changed over the past 10 years, but we’ve decided to give it another go and “retire from our 30’s”. This time we are taking off to hit the road with our 2 kids, (7-year old Juniper and soon to be 3-year old Lennox). We are looking forward to unplugging from the daily grind and spending time with the kiddos for the next 4-5 months.

WHEN

We leave March 30, and our current return date is most likely going to be sometime in August.

WHERE

We start in El Salvador and plan to unwind and recharge for several weeks. Then, we head to Costa Rica for a month. From there, we plan to spend a month or two in Europe and end our journey in Mexico before heading back home stateside around August.

WHY

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do… Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover.”

~Mark Twain

This quote was the inspiration for our last journey and speaks to me just as much today as it does when I first came across it nearly 20 years ago.

HOW

Ever since our last RTW trip, we have talked about a goal of clearing the decks and taking an extended journey every decade. It was a bit nerve wracking prepping for this journey with the kids and will definitely require more planning than our last expedition, but we decided it was worth taking a shot. We have packed our bags, rented our place in Atlantic Beach, and bought one-way tickets to El Salvador. A lot of this is TBD along the way and we are looking forward to the adventure
